Greek Planners Association (SEPOX)

The Greek Planners Association (SEPOX) was founded in 1981. The main objectives of the association are the development of urban and spatial planning in Greece, as well as the establishment of the professions of urban and spatial planning and the improvement of the conditions of their practice. A main concern is to inform the public about the subject of urban and spatial planning, its methods and its social role through well-founded proposals, statements and suggestions. Finally, to promote the concept of integrated spatial management with respect to the principles of sustainable development.

Hellenic Ministry of Environment & Energy, General Secretariat of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment

The Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy works to achieve the protection of the natural environment and resources, the improvement of quality of life, the mitigation and adjustment to the implications of climate change and the enhancement of mechanisms and institutions for environmental governance. The General Secretariat of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment is responsible for urban planning, regional planning, and spatial planning in general, providing support to all the Built Environment Services of Greece

Nicosia Development Agency (ANEL)

Nicosia Development Agency (ANEL) is an organization established by nine local authorities (municipalities) in the capital city of Nicosia, Cyprus. The main objective of the Agency is to support its member-municipalities regarding the implementation of their development plans. The Agency (among others) undertakes initiatives on all sectors falling under the jurisdiction of its municipalities (e.g. energy efficiency, resource efficiency, RES application, innovation, waste management, social policies, social inclusion and integration, smart cities, circular economy, green policies, sustainable mobility, etc.) aiming at the sustainable development in its area of intervention. ANEL is utilized to manage and coordinate cooperation of different sectors’ actors on local level (governmental organizations, local authorities, universities, research institutions, NGOs, private industry – SMEs, civil society) towards the promotion and implementation of new policies and/or projects
